To access data in an enterprise geodatabase or database, client applications must be configured to connect to the database.
Connecting to the database entails using the database management system's connection methods and drivers. When you connect from a remote client computer to the database management systems on the server, you must configure the database management system client on the remote computer.
Tip:
ArcGIS Pro includes client files to connect to PostgreSQL; therefore, you do not have to install a database management system client to connect to PostgreSQL.
