ArcGIS Pro has extensions for specific industries such as aviation, defense, maritime, and pipelines to accommodate their unique workflows. These are industries that use data standards, or specifications, for data production. In these situations, features are collected and assigned attribute values based on very specific requirements. This includes the dimensions of the features and the attribute values they are given on import into a geodatabase or when they are created. For example, building features for some Defense Mapping specifications must have a minimum area of 25 square meters before they can be considered polygons; otherwise, they are created as lines or points.
Aviation
ArcGIS Aviation consists of two extensions that support analysis and data management workflows for the aeronautical community.
With ArcGIS Aviation Airports, you can create obstruction identification surfaces, perform analysis, and create and modify layout elements that are used for airport planning and design activities. You can also manage airport sign attributes while editing features.
Learn more about ArcGIS Aviation Airports
ArcGIS Aviation Charting provides data management, modeling, and cartography tools to create industry-compliant navigation products. You can visualize airport surroundings and complex airspace in both 2D and 3D.
Defense Mapping
The Defense Mapping extension supports workflows related to the Geonames, Multinational Geospatial Co-production Program, and Topographic Data Store specifications. The tools included with this product require specific feature classes and fields to be present in the data to work properly. You can also import data based on these requirements.
Maritime
ArcGIS Maritime supports workflows for managing and producing hydrographic data compliant with International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) standards. The tools provided allow you to import S-100 data into the Esri platform for analysis, sharing, and creation of Electronic Navigational Chart (ENC) products.
Military Symbology Editor
Military Symbology Editor simplifies the task of working with standard defense and military symbology. Military Symbology Editor provides support for MIL-STD-2525D , MIL-STD-2525C, MIL-STD-2525B w/CHANGE 2, APP-6(D), and APP-6(B). The tools provide the ability to create, edit, and share symbology compliant with the supported standards.
Pipeline Referencing
ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing is an extension to the ArcGIS platform that has tools, REST services, and apps for the data management of a Linear Referencing System (LRS) for pipeline operators.
Production Mapping
With the Production Mapping extension, you can streamline data and map production for topographic mapping agencies. The tools ensure consistent data collection, attribution, and data quality across your organization.
Roads and Highways
ArcGIS Roads and Highways is a linear referencing system (LRS) solution for departments of transportation that extends the ArcGIS platform. Roads and Highways LRS platform support includes LRS Network management, event location management, support for linear referencing methods, quality control, and workflow orchestration.
