You can add the currently selected military symbol directly to the map as a feature.
Add a symbol by clicking on the map
To add a symbol by clicking on the map, complete the following steps:
- On the ribbon, click the tab where you added the Military Symbology Editor tools, and click Military Symbology Editor .
- In the Military Symbology Editor pane, with a symbol selected, click Add to Map.
This button is available on the Search, Favorites, Symbol, Label, and Enter Coordinates tabs.
- Click the location on the map where you want to add the symbol.
The symbol is added to the map.
Note:
If the symbol is a line or an area, the first vertex is added. Click to add additional vertices. Double-click to finish.
Add a symbol by entering a coordinate
To add a symbol by entering a coordinate, complete the following steps:
- In the Military Symbology Editor pane, with a symbol selected, click the Enter Coordinates tab.
- Enter a coordinate value in the Coordinates text box.
- Click Add Coordinate(s) to Map.
The symbol is added to the map.
Note:
The Coordinates text box accepts coordinates in a variety of formats, including DD, DMS, MGRS, and UTM. - If the symbol is a line or an area, press Enter and continue adding coordinates.
- When you finish adding all vertices of the line or area, click Add Coordinate(s) to Map.
Note:
If you want to delete a row from the Coordinates table, click in the row to highlight the row and press Delete.The symbol is added to the map.
