00155: A transformation from the map's datum to WGS 1984 Major Auxiliary Sphere is required

You are sharing a web tile layer or cached map image layer using the ArcGIS Online/Google Maps/Bing Maps tiling scheme and your map does not contain a transformation from your map's datum to WGS 1984 Major Auxiliary Sphere. This may be due to the following:

  • No transformation exists between your map's datum and WGS 1984 Major Auxiliary Sphere.
  • A transformation does exist, but it has not been added to your map.

WGS 1984 Major Auxiliary Sphere is the datum for the WGS 1984 Web Mercator (Auxiliary Sphere) coordinate system used by the ArcGIS Online/Google Maps/Bing Maps tiling scheme. Tiles cannot be created accurately without a proper datum transformation.

Solutions

Do one of the following:

  • Change the map's coordinate system to WGS 1984 Web Mercator (Auxiliary Sphere).
  • If a transformation between your map's datum and WGS 1984 Major Auxiliary Sphere does exist but has not been added to the map, add the transformation by changing the map's coordinate system to be WGS 1984 Web Mercator (Auxiliary Sphere) and back to your projection.
  • If you will not be overlaying your service with ArcGIS Online, Google Maps, or Bing Maps and you do not want your cached service to use WGS 1984 Web Mercator (Auxiliary Sphere), choose a tiling scheme that uses the same coordinate system as your map.
  • Create an appropriate custom transformation from your map's spatial reference's geographic coordinate system to the geographic coordinate system for the ArcGIS Online/Google Maps/Bing Maps tiling scheme, which is WGS 1984 Major Auxiliary Sphere.
  • Use the Project tool to reproject the source data to WGS 1984 Web Mercator (Auxiliary Sphere).

More information

All tiling schemes are associated with a spatial reference. Your map's spatial reference must match the tiling scheme's spatial reference to create tiles.
